About the Position

Responsibilities include:
* Responsible for ensuring alignment to group data policies, strategy, data management and data governance frameworks and practices.
* Assess current alignment to group data policies and strategies, data management and data
governance frameworks and practices and in conjunction with data stewards define the required processes and frameworks.
* Design IT storage and virtualisation systems that are cost effective and meet the performance and availability requirements defined by the business.
* Plan rollout of new storage and virtualization hardware and system releases, and make sure that they are properly tested before deployment to production in order to minimize the impact of change-related incidents.
* Develop comprehensive operational procedures for on-going support, change management,
incident and problem management.
* Conduct capacity planning, process and resource analyses of the storage and virtualisation
environments and recommend performance improvement options.

* Create and maintain documentation for existing and new storage and virtualization systems using detailed diagrams.
* Provide on-call support in a customer centric environment and resolve the more complex
problems, including the resolution of complex performance and availability problems occurring within the storage and virtualization systems.
* Monitor health and performance of key storage and virtualization systems on a daily basis; develop and implement moderately complex storage and virtualization monitoring tools and verify that service levels are being met and communicated to the various business owners.
* Monitor security forums and vendor mailing lists, make sure that all storage and virtualization systems are up to date with patches and not vulnerable to attacks.
* Perform considerably complex troubleshooting of storage and virtualization systems in collaboration with other teams, ensures complete resolution of incident and customer satisfaction or escalates to more senior level staff.
* Participate in various projects as a technical resource.
* Maintains current knowledge of "Client's" IT infrastructure and operations.
* Installation and configuration of hardware components in our data centres.
* Perform any other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and to support Central's
business goals.

Qualifications Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience required.
* Virtualisation/VMWARE certifications
* Storage/EMC certifications .

Experience Required for role:
* 8- 10 years' experience in a related field
* Exposure in setting up frameworks and structures
* Design, planning, hardware/software installation, operations, maintenance, and upgrades to UNIX,VMware and EMC systems and infrastructure systems.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of IT operations and processes and of applicable
infrastructure deployments, applications and scripting languages.
* Strong understanding of tiered storage models.
* Experienced in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Technical Services supporting backup and restore of data, business continuity methods and policies, system High availability and Disaster Recovery strategy and testing
* Supporting HP, EMC, or similar high-end and mid-range Disk Arrays including LUN allocation/masking, performance and capacity management and administration
* Have broad experience with a variety of storage technologies including Storage Area Networks(SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Tape Backup/Restore technology in a mission critical environment.
* Extensive hardware troubleshooting experience of storage (RAID, FLASH, SCSI, and SATA)
configurations as well as host I/O performance issues.
* Experience with design concepts, managing, and configuring Brocade and Cisco FC switches used for SAN.
* Experience with storage protocols SAS/SATA, (i)SCSI, Fiber Channel, FCoE
* Experience configuring and tuning HBA's to work with Storage environments on Linux, Windows and ESX hosts.
* Thorough understanding of Multipath high availability storage configuration
* Experience configuring and tuning HBA's to work with Storage environments on Linux, Windows and ESX hosts.
* Thorough understanding of Multipath high availability storage configuration
