Introduction
Position based in Pretoria. A vacancy exists for a Gas Installer based in .Pretoria and reporting to the CES Coordinator.This job exists to install, maintain or repair Afrox or customer owned gas facilities in line with SHEQ, CES and regulatory standards, in order to sustain Afrox business and maintain customer service.
Description
Carry out the installation, testing and commissioning of new or replacement equipment on existing gas facilities as per request.
Maintain up-to-date records and detailed reports on all jobs performed and accepting total responsibility for the quality of all work performed.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Afrox SHEQ standards, customer site specific SHEQ standards, CES and Afrox engineering standards as well as regulatory bodies standards, e.g. LPGASA
Manufacturers' equipment operating instructions, e.g. for operation of welding machines
Ensure all Afrox, regulatory bodies and customer SHEQ standards and PPE regulations are complied with when completing allocated jobs. Standards include but are not limited to: Lone Worker Regulations; Ladder safety; Safe handling of equipment; Customer, Afrox and CES safety standard; Permit to Work regulations; Driving requirements - licences and training, and daily vehicle maintenance checks; and Operating all equipment according to standards
Maintain all housekeeping standards required, including keeping the working area, tools and equipment in a clean, neat and safe condition at all times; and maintaining the CES vehicle in a clean and neat condition at all times
Maintain a professional image at all times, including keeping PPE clean, maintaining personal hygiene standards and presenting a courteous attitude to customers at all times.
Complete all required training as and when required by the Licence to Work.
Comply with the Financial Risk Process at all times
Profile

The successful incumbent will be an NQF Level 2 Gas Pipeline Installer with Matic, coupled with 3-5 years relevant experience. He or she must have a pipe fitting/installation/mechanical background with knowledge of industrial gases and mechanical and electrical equipment an advantage. Must be in possession of a LPG Industrial QCC license. Risk assessment skills, the ability to interpret drawings as well as report writing skills are an important part of this role. Communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage unskilled/semi skilled staff and a positive attitude are also essential to this role. The successful candidate will have a valid drivers licence and must be able to work away from home for extended periods.
