The successful candidates will be responsible for amongst others, the following specific tasks: β’ Responsible for maintenance of the project plan and charter β’ Responsible for maintenance and updating of project repository/database, filing, recording and reporting systems for projects β’ Reviews project activities for compliance with procedures and standards β’ Maintain risk and issue logs and change control records β’ Manage support and provision of project tools and equipment β’ Develop and support effective communication mechanisms between the project team members β’ Provide assistance to project manager with organising kick-off meetings, status report meetings and stakeholder meetings β’ Collecting and processing information of time sheets and expenses and requesting project codes from Finance β’ Set up and maintain systems for recording project costs β’ Ensure adherence to all project administration requirements within assigned programmes and projects β’ Ensure that effective project management processes, procedures and standards are adhered to β’ Coordinate and manage relevant assigned programmes and ensure that programmes and projects are implemented to best practice standards, time, quality and budget β’ Oversee all assigned projects and programmes in the organisation, and carry the ultimate responsibility for these in terms of project management and governance β’ Ensure the effective alignment in the implementation of project initiatives β’ Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues to project sponsor where necessary β’ Track project progress and performance and provide status reports to the project sponsor and progress updates to senior management β’ Work closely with stakeholders and project team to ensure the project meets business needs β’ Ensure sourcing, contracting and managing external service providers used on approved projects so that they deliver within time, budget and quality requirements and the governance protocols of DHA are adhered to.
β’ A three year Degree/ Diploma in Information Technology / Project Management or an NQF level 6 equivalent is required plus 6-8 yearsβ experience in Information Services / Project Management β’ Experience in administration of IS projects β’ Proven knowledge of project management methodologies β’ Knowledge and understanding of stakeholder management practices β’ Knowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework and all relevant Departmental Legislation and Prescripts β’ Knowledge and application of the GITO Guidelines and prescripts and the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa β’ Knowledge of Electronic Communications and Transaction Act β’ Knowledge of SITA Act and Regulations β’ Successful candidates will be subjected to βTop Secretβ Security Clearance procedures through the State Security Agency β’ A valid driverβs licence and willingness to travel are essential β’ Must be available to work on weekends.
R693 per hour to a maximum of 160 hours per month
