Job Details

Greet customers and answer all enquiries
Suggest items available for sale and assisting in locating items.
Provide solutions for customer who may not know exactly what it is that they are looking for
Process of customer orders and advise them on stock availability, lead times etc.
Provide quotations to customers β either telephonically or written
Develop new sales opportunities through cold calls to potential customers
Manage cash and credit transactions and minimize credit notes
Inform customers about special promotions and stock shelves as and when needed
Stay abreast with regards to latest product trends / developments
Ensure that the respective sales and GP targets are realized on a monthly basis
They need to take the initiative by telephonically calling on customers for business
Daily follow up on phone calls and emails and perform sales related administration functions
Maintain a neat and tidy workstation all times.
Provide after sales follow up so as to ensure that the customers as satisfied with our service.
Candidate Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification (mathematics a must)
Valid Code B driverβs licence
Previous sales experience in the steel & hardware industry essential
Specific knowledge of pipes and fittings
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Knowledge of and experience with writing reports and performing admin duties
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Essential customer service and communication skills β friendly disposition.
Product and application knowledge, including the ability to read manufacturers catalogues.
Syspro knowledge advantageous
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations β discounts vs mark-up / customer pricing
