Regulatory Reporting Accountant

To support the regulatory reporting function within the bank by ensuring compliance and adherence to Basel Accord regulations.


Key Performance Areas



• Preparation of regulatory and statutory reporting to SARB.

• Submission of BA returns to SARB.

• Investigate, analyse and resolve SARB queries.

• Interact with other departments to obtain the relevant information to complete BA

returns.

• Perform checks and reconciliations between the relevant returns, the bank’s

management accounts and operational systems.

• Assist in design and building of models to automate the reporting process.

• Assist in the development of the models, frameworks, policies and procedures

regarding each BA return and update these on a regular basis.

• Assure the correct treatment of new business lines of the bank into the regulatory

reporting framework.

• Assist with resolving compliance issues.

• Support during the regulatory audits to ensure clean audit reports.

• Compile and circulate BA 099 presentations on a monthly basis.

• Manage timelines from/to various divisions and SARB.

• Monthly variance meeting documentation and circulation.

• Keep abreast of Basel Accord changes.




Diploma in Business Management/ Accounting/Banking is essential.
3 – 5 years experience in a Banking/Auditing environment is essential.
Knowledge in Regulations to Banking Act is essential.
Knowledge of Reconciliation is essential.
MS Office is essential.
