SA Metal Group is South Africa’s oldest and largest metal recycling company. The Group purchases and processes all forms of ferrous metals (steel and others) and non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper and others) from industrial enterprises, scrap metal dealers and private individuals. Our processing facilities are located in and around Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria. As of 2018, the Group is 99 years old.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Projects Manager is responsible for ensuring that all staff have the equipment to do the tasks set out, ensuring machinery and equipment is in good working order and are maintained as per maintenance schedules, training of staff on site, ensure the project meets it’s deadlines within budget as set out per order and ensure that site is compliant to the health and safety standards of the project.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 or equivalent
Supervisory/Managerial Experience
3 years’ experience in production, heavy engineering or mining environment.
Previous demolition experience an added advantage

Experience in discipline and IR
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
Knowledge of processing ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as quality standards
Computer literacy
QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES

Ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing) in English, and preferably other South African languages

Managing risk and issues.
Recording all project expenditure and review against estimates.

Required to work overtime as per operational requirements
