Core Purpose:

To provide general & professional support to the organisation. To ensure the IT infrastructure is supported and maintained to achievement the overall business objectives and to provide prompt efficient & professional end user support.

Key Accountabilities:

Departmental Management:

Management of all IT related equipment SLA agreements and service providers.
Assisting with case specific information requirements and ERP system report development per management requirements utilising SQL Analysis services, SQL reporting services and Syspro Reporting Services, via certified consultants and authorised resellers.

Syspro licensing, company maintenance, system setup, security, data integrity, reporting and operations.
Liaising with external consultants for operational ERP / IT system issues.


Data management:

Ensuring Syspro data integrity.
SQL scripting, backup and maintenance.
SQL Analysis services implementation and maintenance
Ensuring SQL Analysis data integrity
HP MSA SAN infrastructure management and maintenance.
Hyper-V Virtualisation systems maintenance, data integrity and business continuity.
Network management and general security:

Daily network administration, troubleshooting and documentation.
MS Exchange server / Outlook client installation, configuration and support.
User support on varied client hardware and software.
Server and client maintenance, hardware and software.
Network Security, both internal and external utilising: AD integrated WSUS rollouts for critical system patches, monitoring of internet / e-mail usage and reporting abuse, enforcing IT end user policy and pro-active preventative measures such as mail spam filtering and firewall rules.
Design, Maintenance and periodic testing of master DRP plan
Design and maintenance of Backup infrastructure.
Implementation and maintenance of IT security policies (physical and data access).
Maintaining existing and sourcing of new licensing agreements for various software products (MS, Symantec, Syspro, etc.).
Frequent network auditing to expose current vulnerabilities and network abuse.
Requirements:

Comptia A+ and N+
MCSE / MCITP, or similar experience and training.
Syspro experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in IT systems support and end user support.
Knowledge:

Strong technical knowledge, fault finding and integration on IT systems.
Thorough knowledge of computerised systems in the organisation.
Knowledge of computer hardware across a range of platforms.
Knowledge of latest developments in the computer field / world relevant to the organisation.


Skills needed:

Demonstrate competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to IT support challenges.
Extensive Syspro experience
Ability to learn & apply new concepts quickly.
Able to apply and implement computerised principles regarding own division / department.
Able to handle disciplines and controls inherent to computerised functions
Able to apply problem solving techniques to deal with system problems.
