Oricol Environmental Services are driven to turning waste in to a resource. We are currently recruiting a fleet controller for our Gauteng region. We transport all kinds of waste from around Gauteng. We currently have 23 vehicles with 5 different vehicle types being used. We would like someone that would be able to assist with the controlling of these vehilces.

Main focus is to ensure that all loads are completed within agreed booking time lines. Maximise productivity of the vehicles. Ensure maximum availability of vehicles

Route Sheets to be completed before the next day.
Communicate with drivers during the day to find out what lifts will be missed- if any.
When drivers arrive at depot in morning- run through missed lifts, check for delivery notes and disposal slips.
Make sure that they are aware of any important issues by having brief chat/discussion.
All staff files/including warnings to be up to date and placed in the staff files.
Undertake all duties and tasks as prescribed from time to time by your Superior.
Report delays/breakdowns/road conditions or leaks to clients and or affected OES staff.
To check for any specific instructions that a customer may require.
To ensure that loads are secure and nets/tarpaulins are used on the full containers before transporting on any road.
All safety equipment is to be used for loads that may require such equipment.

To ensure that staff wear uniforms and safety clothing whilst on duty.
Ensure that and reported vehicle defects are attended to.
Investigate incidents or accidents and ensure that corrective action is implemented and maintained.
Ensure that the vehicles use the correct Hazchem signage and that it is displayed at all times and change when necessary.
Ensure that any spillage is cleaned up.
Not to allow any unauthorized and/or unlicensed person to drive the vehicle or operate the equipment.
To only tip loads at authorised waste disposal sites or landfills.
To ensure and conduct all inductions for new staff.
To schedule vehicles to go for services, load tests , roadworthy and repairs.
Complete daily reports such as and not limiting to, daily production reports, service boards and daily driver violations.
To monitor and occasionally pull reports from the powertrack system.
To help tick off completed jobs on the access system and from time to time assist with the preparation of driver trip sheets.
Ensure that the bin yard is inspected on a daily bases and that all requirements are met.
All bins with residue waste must be tarped or cleaned out. All bins that are damaged are reported to the superior
To ensure that all the drivers and assistants have updated medicals, haz chem training, licenses and PrDPโ€™s respectively.
To have knowledge and adhere to the companies intentions as stated in the
Environmental Policy
Health and Safety Policy
Quality Policy
To be on the look out for and report any possible environmental and/or health and safety risks that could affect yourself and other staff members
To report any incidents or near misses to your supervisor
To fully understand and implement the emergency plan and to respond accordingly when required
To ensure that all hazardous and high risk tasks are identified, risk assessed and mitigating actions are implemented to reduce such risk.
Ensure that all equipment checks have been done and equipment is serviced according to schedule. Check and sign off any inspections on equipment to confirm that any items raised are resolved.
Take note of any SHEQ notifications that are sent out and take necessary actions when required.
Notify your manager / supervisor / compliance department of any new activities that are to be carried out so that they can be assessed for risk and works instructions written.
To make sure that any audit findings are corrected as quickly as possible after the audit
Do not use any equipment that you have not been trained on (trained by a supervisor)

Minimum of 2 years experience in the supervision of logistics based operation

Transportation of dangerous goods

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) essential

B code drivers license essential (EC code โ€“ extra heavy - an advantage
