Job Position: Creditors Clerk (Equity)

L*oc*ation: Port Elizabeth

Salary: R15 000 to R16 000 per month CTC commensurate with experience and qualification + 13th cheque and pension fund

Qualifications / Requirements

Matric with Mathematics
Minimum of 2 to 3 years working experience in accounts environment or similar position
Clearing and forwarding industry experience highly advantageous
General accounting principles and guidelines knowledge

Working knowledge of Cargowise
Key Performance Areas:

Commercial accounting management (accounts payable):
Ensure that adequate stock of consumable items is maintained, that these are securely stored to prevent stock losses and that the issue thereof is controlled
Matching supplier invoice to purchase orders for trade creditors
Capturing supplier's invoices and credit notes
Resolving queries
Reconciling supplier accounts and effect payment
Apply payments on financial system
Ensure compliance with Value Added Tax Act
Job management:
Resolving unbilled items by interrogating shipment files on the operating system for recovery details
Balancing customs transactions from operating system to finance system daily
Requesting and processing PRN and topup payments to customs
Capturing refunds received onto shipment files
Checking shipment files for validity of refunds and providing proof of receipt of customs refunds in order for the refunds to be paid out
Assist in preparing unbilled disbursement report
Receiving, checking and capturing write offs
Scruitinising shipment files for small over and under recoveries and processing correcting journals for these
Processing journals to recon equal and claims for refunds
Reviewing WIP’s and ACR’s
Investigate excessive profits and job losses
Review ageing of open jobs
Checking jobs for accuracy and closing jobs
Fixed assets:
Drawing up Capex's in line with company policy
Ensure Capex is signed off according to limits of authority
Capturing additions, disposals and transfers of assets
Running monthly depreciation
Downloading asset reports.
Safety, health, environment and quality:
Able to apply basic HSE procedures and practices relevant to own work functions under direct supervision
Able to apply basic HSE and quality procedures and practices relevant to own work functions under direct supervision
Knowledge of all health and safety procedures applicable to own work area
Understands the legal implications of health and safety in own work area
Able to take corrective action when required with general guidance in place
Financial responsibility (if applicable):
Cashflow in relation to creditor payments
Performance Indicator:
Maintain % of current Invoices in creditors age analysis within target
Ensure no queries on supplier statements / AP age analysis are older than target
Ageing of WIPS and ACRS within target
Ageing of closed files within target
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R15,000.00 to R16,000.00 /month
