Job Description
In Sub-Saharan Africa, SNC-Lavalin has a proven track record of delivering projects across all four of our sectors of operation including oil and gas, mining and metallurgy, infrastructure and power. We have been present in Africa since the 1970s when the company was awarded the Mefta cement plant in Algeria. Since then, we have designed and built a series of outstanding projects across the continent that directly contribute to quality of life. Over the last four decades we have served blue-chip clients, primarily in the petrochemical, power and mining and metals sectors on over 300 diverse projects executed in South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, Madagascar, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Sudan.

EDUCATION & SKILLS:

Must have a completed Matric
Must be computer literate (MS Office Suite)
Must have 1-3 years previous experience in administering a construction site / office environment
Must have good technical knowledge of site requirements
Must be numerically proficient
Candidate must be Local
COMPETENCIES:

Must be able to communicate in English, both written and verbal

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the full Worker cycle from hiring to termination – contracts, grading, remuneration, Performance, talent, discipline, Business Process approvals and job change history
Overseeing Workday system compliance by supporting all aspects of employee records and processes on Workday throughout the full Worker life cycle
Coach and guide operational leadership in key areas such as talent review, performance management, recruitment, policy implementation, compensation, employee development, employment equity, BBBEE, mobility and change management
Effective manpower planning for current and upcoming projects so as to ensure Project efficiencies and maximum productivity
Determine root causes of HR disputes and general HR issues and develop processes based on findings to resolve these
Responsible for solving escalated Workday/HRIS and general HR issues from local HR representatives
Lead and/or support technical training initiatives relating to HR
Effective communication and coordination between all Project and Head office clients Managers/Partners/ Workers ensuring synchronised employee/employer relations
Providing support to Operations and Functions in respect of HR initiatives, interventions and task cycles
Developing and maintaining training of subordinate employees/workers to ensure continuous employee exposure, development and progression. Skills transfer should be a fundamental basis of operation
Interfacing with Project/ Corporate teams to ensure that SSA HR needs are escalated, managed and effectively communicated
Providing relevant HR management and monthly reports to internal and or external clients
