Purpose of the role

To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service to guest in the Restaurant, Bar, Pool, Terrace, Room Service or Banqueting areas, in line with departmental and hotel guidelines, and Park Inn by Radisson Corporate guidelines and service concepts.





Key Responsibilities of the Waitron





Provide efficient, prompt, trouble-free and courteous service by meeting, greeting, seating and serving guests with a YIC! attitude at all times
Accurately records, pre-checks, and picks up all food and beverage orders, delivering them to the correct tables
Serves guests their food and beverage orders accurately, promptly and courteously to avoid guest complaints relating to accuracy and time delays i.e. food or beverages taking too long
Sets tables as required by the standards of the Restaurant Management team prior to guest arrival, ensuring that they do not wobble
Ensures that the working area and station are stocked with β€œ mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times
Ensures smooth running of the assigned station at all times
Maintains a thorough working knowledge of food and beverage menus, to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly
Promotes additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell, in a manner that is professional and courteous
Makes clear orders to kitchen production and bar regarding food and beverages
Processes the food and beverage orders accurately according to hotel’s Micros point of sale procedures
Knows and strictly follow all the relevant Micros point of sale standard operating procedures (SOP’s) including the Zero Tolerance SOP’s
Confers with Restaurant/Banqueting Management team regarding any last minute arrangements or set-ups
Checks the restaurant reservations list frequently during the shift
Knows what daily Meeting and Events functions are taking place throughout the hotel, especially in the Restaurant
Requirements of Waitron:

At least 1 (one) year experience in a similar role
Commercially aware
Familiar with Micros
Clear thinker with excellent communication abilities
