ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Provide Technical support to maintenance managers and engineers and ensure execution of the Sasol Operations Standards to improve asset performance.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Accountable to the Area Manager for the development and review of equipment maintenance strategies.
Accountable to the Area Manager for standardization of the equipment, including GO procedures, QCPs and BOMβs
Actively drive Work Management systems and performance of area to ensure maintenance strategies are optimized in area of responsibility.
Competent and certified to develop and maintain equipment maintenance strategies.
Give inputs into the maintenance budget from asset standardization and asset maintenance strategies
Improve the asset performance (up the availability) through improvement plans and actions steps in area of responsibility
Have a clear understanding of the Sasol Operations Standard Framework and assist the AM to execute to standard and identify improvement opportunities.
Assist the Area Manager as the project leader for shutdown executions (from front end loading to final clearance for operation)
Assist the Area Manager in his management systems to ensure a safe and reliable operation.
Merridium Competent
Facilitate RCA for identified equipment failures to assist in cost effective maintenance
Apply project management skills on small projects
Assist foreman with technical issues
Responsible to update relief valve register
Holistic audit compliances wrt to:
Basic fault finding and improvements on Decanters.
Basic fault finding and improvements on Centrifugal pump.
Shutdown planning & coordination of preparation and execution
Perform mechanical foreman standby duties
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge & experience on Centrifugal pumps.
Experience in QC systems, fault finding and leading RCAs.
In addition to a pre-employment medical examination, some positions may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria.
Qualifications
Gr 12/N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English
National Diploma Mechanical Engineering
Valid driverβs license
Experience
Minimum of 1 year relevant Technician experience.
