Technician – Electronic Security

While other companies are not hiring and even laying off existing staff,
Dishsat Electronics is growing and looking to add to our organization. As
Gauteng premier Electronic Security Company, we are
expecting a great year in 2016. We are currently looking for that just right,
amazing individual to join our team as a Technician – Electronic Security. This person will
be instrumental in the success of our technical team. We are looking for
someone who is on-time, dependable and willing to take a leadership role.




JOB REQUIREMENTS
AND SPECIFICATIONS:

Responsible for performing
skilled security technician work in the service/repair, alteration,
installation and maintenance of all security related systems at Dishsat
Electronics as follows: Gate Motors; Alarm Systems; Access Control; Intercom
Systems; Networking & Cabling; Booms & Boom Gates; Turnstiles &
Baffle Gates and Electric Fencing.

Evaluates, diagnoses,
troubleshoots systems and perform repairs as necessary.

Assists in the development of
training programs for other employees.

·
Performs upgrades and additions
to systems in order to increase functionality and usability

·
Familiarity with local, state,
and national codes as they apply to security and life safety equipment.

·
Knowledge of computer,
networks, and information technology related systems.

·
Knowledge of structured
cabling.

·
Ability to read blueprints,
architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.

Coordinates
with assigned foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing
projects and work orders efficiently.
Fabricates
equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or
replacing unavailable parts.
Informs
personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the
purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate
action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
Maintains
vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in
safe operating condition.
Participates
in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the
purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job
functions.
Prepares
written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the
purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
Requests
equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and
ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary
installation and/or repair.
Responds to
emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving
immediate customer concerns.
Transports a
variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the
availability of materials required at job site.
Minimum of
three (3) years of experience in a similar environment.
At least an
Electronics diploma.
Be willing to
accept tough coaching as well as be accountable to reaching agreed upon
goals.
Must have good
negotiation techniques and the ability to be persuasive.
Must possess
excellent written and oral communication skills.
Organizational
skills allowing the proper prioritizing of work.
Must have a
valid driver’s license.
