Job Description

To provide a professional reception and switchboard service to Absa staff, clients and service providers
Incoming Calls:
β’ Answer all calls within 3 rings
β’ Return calls to be answered promptly
β’ Greet callers in a friendly and professional manner, never raise your voice and always offer to assist
β’ Use the correct terminology and ask the appropriate questions to correctly transfer the call
β’ Provide accurate information to callers at all times
β’ Respond to calls that return to the board unanswered and assist the caller with an alternate extension
β’ Ensure there is adequate cover when leaving the board
β’ Update Switchboard supervisors of changes and updates of information
Emergency Calls:
β’ Keep an updated emergency contact list
β’ Make emergency calls as required and keep a record thereof
Switchboard Database:
β’ Update the database promptly and continually as and when required
Order stationery as required for the switchboard area.
Ensure the general tidiness of the switchboard and frontline areas including interview rooms and boardrooms.

β’ Must be self-motivated and team-oriented
β’ Must be friendly, polite and helpful when dealing with customers
β’ Must be able to work under pressure
Qualifications
β’ Matric Certificate
β’ 2 β 3 Yearsβ experience in frontline reception
β’ Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & E-mail
β’Fluency in English
