THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL UTILISED IN THE SEDGEFIELD AREA AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE
FOLLOWING KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: οƒ˜
Ensure the efficient and effective provision of operational services in the area of responsibility

οƒ˜ Manage performance of contractors
οƒ˜ Manage the investigations and resolving of all cleaning complaints in area of responsibility
οƒ˜ Supervision of staff οƒ˜
Enforce staff discipline and compliance with OHS requirements
οƒ˜ Manage special projects and special events
οƒ˜ Manage and optimise usage of all assets and maintain asset registers
οƒ˜ Provide efficient support to all line operations οƒ˜

Co-ordination and controlling of all recycling stations around the municipality.
οƒ˜ Monitoring of waste transfer stations within the municipality.
οƒ˜ Implement household collection operational plan.
οƒ˜ Report to Divisional Head on the day to day duties.
οƒ˜ Monitoring of landfill sites/drop-off facilities within the municipality.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12

An appropriate National Diploma in Environmental Management or equivalent qualification

Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity

Knowledge of environmental standards and relevant legislations.

Understanding of the technical aspects of work related to waste management (advantageous)

A valid Code B or EB driver’s licence

Effective communication skills in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages

Good administration skills

Computer literacy

or Indian female or African or Indian Male, if a suitable candidate in that category can be identified.
