Exciting opportunity exists for a Restaurant Hostess to work for an upmarket 5* Hotel.
Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric
Good communication skills
Excellent telephone mannerism
Professional attitude & excellent people skills
Ability to liaise with and work with various cultures and types of people
Must be adaptable / flexible
Duties will include, but aren’t limited to:

Answer enquiries regarding services and be well informed on the estate and local info
Provide information about services available and responding to guest complaints.
To organize the safekeeping of the guest jackets or other possessions

Be aware of the activities within the surrounding areas including Cape Town such as entertainment and attractions.
Report any suspicious activities to security & ensuring awareness of emergency evacuation.
Ensuring awareness of previous guest complaints and tackling them with diplomacy.
Communicate to managers and waiters regarding VIP visits as soon as seated.
Provide brochures and other literature & keep hostess desk clean and tidy.
Receive guests upon arrival in the restaurant.
Take bookings and messages should the reservations manager not be available.
Be familiar with the reservation policies, such as booking times etc.
Handling guest criticism, expecting both negative and positive, in a professional manner and direct to appropriate management as required.
Required to comply with the occupational health and safety responsibilities, relevant to job position.
