PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Receiving Stock Controller plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production units, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so raw material and supplies are located and distributed to production departments; in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the structure required to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner
Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately account for materials being received
Resolves discrepancies with Procurement Clerk regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry
Supervise the processing of requisitions and requests; complete requisitions for needed materials to assure adequate stock levels
Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner
Oversees the supplying of materials to production units and stages materials required efficiently and correctly
Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures
Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required; maintain
inventory of items in the warehouse; file records as required; supervise the assembly of
inventory printouts and catalogues as required
Monitor and effectively maintain the automated warehousing system; enter data and correct
errors consistently
Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure
proper routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment
Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly
condition
Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Matric
Must have a valid forklift license
Pastel Evolution and Xperdyte experience (preferred)
Previous experience in a warehousing and stock control environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
Ability to deliver under the pressure of deadlines
Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Strong communication skills
Good time management and organisational skills
Good relationship building skills
Strong numerical skills
Report-writing abilities
Able to commute independently, and work extended hours on occasions when required.
Able to communicate and motivate coherently - both verbally and via written media.
