Duties & Responsibilities
Description: A company involved in ingredient and flavour development is looking for a Food Scientist to join their team. Key duties include, but is not limited to: lead the development and application of new products and processes from a brief to launch; implement and handover new approved products and processes to Operations; innovate new products and process; ensure products are brought to market timeously; plan and assign resources to these developments accordingly; source new raw material for new products; ensure that all HACCP and ISO as well as Health and Safety Standards are maintained; liaising with sales, operations and QC as required; keeps up to date on best practice and competitor benchmarking on product development within the product group.
Key Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Food Science with a minimum of 3 years' experience in developing a variety of products within savoury snacks and dry products. Knowledge of ingredient functionality in raw materials. HACCP, ISO and Quality Management system experience essential. Computer literate. Knowledge and experience of SAP is beneficial.
