Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Production Planner, to be based
at McCain Head Office in Bedfordview. The successful candidate will report to the Planning Manager.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To create and maintain a production schedule that support sales demand and ensure no out of stock situation. Ensure SAP
parameters and master data management is effective and conforms to the set IBP Principles. To ensure the scheduling process is
maintained in SAP in order for the SAP MRP process to be effective as well as all other areas of SAP maintenance.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Manage, coordinate and facilitate the supply processes and tools to support the needs of the business and ensure
alignment of Finished Goods scheduling.

Ensure effective execution of the SAP Schedules and MRP.
Ensure correct work pattern and calendar execution weekly so reality and planning is aligned.
Ensure Line Capacity is managed and potential problems are communicated in time.
Ensure that due consideration is given to customer service delivery and order size to facilitate achieving performance targets agreed with Commercial Team.

Compile weekly raw material planning decks aligned with the Schedule, at least 8 weeks notification on raw constraints.
Manage changes to ensure minimum disruption to Plant performance and Distribution service delivery
Manage weekly production schedule conformance checks allowing sufficient flexibility to achieve a no out-of-stock status

Track production conformance on a weekly basis by Packing Line and by Sales Unit
Compile and ensure effective setup to manage the MRP for continuity in raw, Packaging materials and ingredients with the MRP controller.
Manage Working Capital.
Manage working-capital and DOH targets,
Manage monthly escalations of slow moving stocks and Expiry profiles to the business;
Ensure implementation of on-going solutions-driven initiatives to minimise or limit write-off’s
Act in accordance with authorised, delegated instructions in managing obsolete stock and risks
Manage and control phase in/out of activities and inventories on both raw materials and finished product.
Actively engage in all functions to ensure we Blocked stock is worked out as soon as possible.
Ensure weekly and in cases daily communication of critical stock and stock levels in general

Ensure effective and efficient management of the New Product implementation products as well as Re-launch and
Packaging changes.
Ensure on time and according to the new product development process.
Production as per plan and ensure a constant communication to ensure all levels of agreement are met.
Ensure detailed information sharing on packaging run out when packaging changes occur.
Assist in creating cross-functional synergy and alignment:
Ensure supply chain integration and effective execution across Sales, Marketing and Finance
Owning the planning processes, and conformance in accordance with the internal business requirements
Ensure an in depth knowledge of Demand changes and short term production changes to ensure an in stock situation.
Weekly and Daily management is required in an ever changing demand plan.
Ensure SAP reflects these changes to ensure MRP working effectively.
Implement and participate in continuous improvement activities within the Supply Chain
Ensure effective execution of processes and procedures to ensure a smooth running production schedule environment, as well as Service Level execution in line with Business Targets.

Springs Plan
Mix Plan
Bulk Capacity Management in conjunction with the Vegetable Planning Manager.
Bulk Capacity Movements
Finished Goods Warehouse limitations and impact on schedule to be actively being engaged to ensure pack plan will materialize.
Understand signals from a replenishing model and ensure setup is done correctly for an automated primary warehouse model.
Manage the demand planning and replenishment of Springs Factory Shop products (including potato) by building requirement into production plan and reducing SLOB stock
MRP Setup and management in conjunction with the MRP Controller for Springs specifically including Non- MRP products.
Weekly Excel Access model updates and information validation.

Delmas
LT Raw material Alignment understanding and a 6 month active GAP closing and FG management planning.
MACFRY Plan
Sweet Potato plan
Understand signals from a replenishing model and ensure setup is done correctly for an automated primary warehouse model.
MRP Setup and management in conjunction with the MRP Controller for Springs specifically including Non- MRP products
REQUIREMENTS
Commercial degree/diploma – preference to Supply Chain, Planning or Logistics
