We are looking for Operations Manager for an FMCG Plant. Someone that has a strong and diplomatic personality. This is for a small town in KZN so this person will need to be happy living in a small town. You will be scheduled for on call for emergencies.

We are looking for someone that has a minimum of 5 years middle to senior management level experience running operations in a FMCG / transport / logistics environment, experience in handling of perishable bulk products is preferable. This person needs to be both strategic and operational.

The type of candidate will need to manage an active unionised branch. If the person is able to speak Afrikaans and Zulu fluently, this will be an added advantage.

Manage subordinates
Must be able to build sound relations with producers of product
Manage quality and volumes
Manage product logistics
Compile budgets and manage admin functions
Manage product functions
Manage SHE and SHE compliance
Manage plant maintenance

Manage laboratory function
Education: B Degree/Diploma in Logistics/Transport
Experience: 5 years at middle to senior management level in an FMCG / transport / logistics environment. Experience in the handling of perishable bulk product preferable
Special requirements
Must be prepared to relocate to a small town in KZN
Must be prepared to work long irregular hours and over weekends (during crises mainly)
Must be prepared to do standby on alternate weekends
Must have experience in managing unionised labour

Incentive bonus at 3 times basic salary of which 40% is own performance based and 60% company performance ba
