PURPOSE

Ensure compliance to environment, safety, health, legislation, standards and policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) procedures, policies and programme as required by the She system. Set up functional SHE Committees for all sites and ensure that meetings are conducted as scheduled and minutes are kept. Create awareness within the company that workplace incidents must be reported before the end of the shift on which the incident occurred and investigated within 48 hours. Lead the investigation process and provide guidelines on the recommendations needed. Organize, plan and schedule workplace inspections at all sites. Visit sites and conduct inspections to identify deviations and applicable conformances to relevant legislation and Johannesburg Water standards. Keep the workforce abreast with any changes in legislation, standards, policies and procedures. Encourage employees to actively participate in the SHE suggestion scheme. Compile a biannual internal audit schedule and communicate it to site. Prepare sites for external audits. Ensure that required SHE surveys are conducted. Develop a job safety analysis procedure and communicate to the sites.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12
National Diploma Health and Safety/ Enviromental Management (NQF 6/7)

3 years experience in Health and Safety Environment
Valid Driver’s license
