MAINTENANCE GENERAL SERVICE EMPLOYEE-CENTURY CITY CONFERENCE CENTRE

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Our company is looking for a Maintenance GSE with experience in the hospitality industry. Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance GSE will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, minimising any downtime. All work will be done in compliance with safety rules and regulations.

DUTIES, REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary

Implement preventative maintenance measures

Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies

Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol

Perform other maintenance duties as requested

Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position

Exposure to work in a hotel/conference environment preferred

Respond to guest repair requests in a timeous fashion

Must have the ability to interpret readings on meters, gauges and similar

Must be able to do testing & fault finding / troubleshooting where required

Have a good understanding of general maintenance material & products

Ensure & remain well-groomed throughout the day

Must be prepared to work shifts

Must be able to work unsupervised

Must be well organized and possess a good understanding of prioritising repair work

Work well under pressure
