Job Purpose Statement
Implement and execute an inventory replenishment system ensuring proper levels of stock.
Act as a liaison between departments and buyer to determine obsolete stock whilst optimising inventory and turnover
Maintain accurate inventory counts throughout the Group
Key requirements
Minimum of a 3 year tertiary or similar relevant qualification or Certification in Inventory Management
5 β 10 years inventory working experience in the FMCG / Wholesale industry with at least 5 yearsβ experience at a Management level
A solid grasp of data analysis and forecasting methods.
Working knowledge of inventory management ERP software - Kerridge knowledge and experience advantageous.
Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
Excellent Project Management and Organisational Skills
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Above average MS Office skills
Ability to work under pressure and according to tight deadlines.
Excellent time-keeping, work ethic and attendance record
Willing to travel to different regions
Key Results Areas
Inventory Analysis
Develop a core range
Identify slow movers and obsolete stock
Analyse performance of new ranges
Conduct data analysis to forecast future needs
Ensure accurate product inventory
Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
Report on inventory activities and variances
Oversee cycle count activities and personnel
Make recommendation to procurement with regards to stock replenishment and orders to avoid stock shortages or excessive stock.
Report to Senior Management on stock levels and any other issues
Other key requirements
Clean credit and criminal record
Will be required to undertake a pre-employment polygraph test
Position is based in Durban
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required
12 month fixed term contract
