About the Position

Well established Manufacturing Company is looking for a Data Capturer based in Durban North, it is ESSENTIAL that you reside in and around that area

Working Conditions

Due to the nature of the position overtime and weekend work may be required where projects demand
Shift patterns - Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00
Every alternate Sunday for 5 hours
Core Purpose of the Job

To capture retailer promotional broadsheets into a database with accuracy and speed so as to ensure a reliable service to both retail and manufacturer clients
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric
Understanding of Retail promotions
Background of Data Capturing
Data Capturing experience
Computer Skills: MS Excel
Nature and Scope of the Job

Data-capturers play a pivotal role for key retail clients
The real-time pricing that is entered into the system is the very pricing that retailers base their own promotional pricing on
For this reason, it is essential the capturers are accurate, up to date and efficient in their work processes
From a manufacturer perspective both pricing and data integrity is key
Promotional statistics are worked out on a share basis and this is then measured against market data
This is the one true method to assess the ROI of promotional spend of key retailers in South Africa which manufacturers can assess
Key Performance Areas

Collecting and collating of material to be captured
Capturing of retailer broadsheets from newspapers
Ensuring accuracy of data captured and correct allocation
Maintaining efficient and accurate flow of information with other operators and branches
Prioritising and production planning.
Maintaining accurate and up to date archives
Supervising and maintenance of equipment
Key Performance Indicators

Daily newspapers to be completed on the day and community papers within the respective week
Daily newspapers to be completed on the day and community papers within the respective week
A minimum of 220 captures per day
Minimum duplicates of 80
Assessing captures against the Daily Capturing Report
Capture dates must be verified against advert date
Any difference greater than 48 hours for Dailies and 5 days for Communities must be dealt with by the DAS supervisor
Capture backlog to be assessed daily and refer to the above
