Company seeking a well-experienced Business Unit Manager to oversee the operations relating to the automotive sector.
Management of service deliverables for the Automotive industry clients
To manage and mitigate risk (SARS Customs / financial risks / client penalties / company risks)
Manage all staffing matters via HR
Ensure all staff are adequately trained and engaged
Reporting
Matric essential
Technical / Customs I & II training
Incoterms 2010 training
Proven general management experience encompassing all areas of business
At least 5 years in a senior operations management position
Proven Customs Brokerage and International Forwarding knowledge and expertise
Knowledge

1. Proven knowledge of all aspects of Sea and Air -imports & exports; including Overborder and Cross-Trade
2. Proven computer skills
3. Proven exposure to managing Legal Compliance and Risk Mitigation
4. Proven knowledge of SHERQ roles and responsibilities
5. Proven knowledge of Port / Airport rules and regulations and requirement.
6. Financial exposure and knowledge to interpret P&L's
7. HR & IR knowledge and exposure iro dealing with disciplinary enquiries
8. Good understanding of IT integration processes


9. Good Commercial knowledge including understanding client rates and profitability

9. Good working knowledge of the various legislation that governs business i.e. SARS Customs & Vat Acts; OH&S; Protection of Personal Information; Ports Act; Road; Haz Goods, etc.
11. Good organisational skills.
12. Self-motivator.
13. Well groomed and presented in a professional manner
14. A valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s
