About the Position

Unity VFX and Environment Artist

Job Description:
Currently, our company is developing an augmented reality (AR) game that pioneers
the way forward by seamlessly introducing the use of Crypto-tokens and the Bitcoin
Blockchain into the core of the game's economy as a future standard of game development
and game assets.

Augmentors is an AR battle game. The end goal of the game is to be a cross-platform (iOS & Android) AR mobile game that allows users to summon creatures into the real world to battle against your friends and foes.

We are looking for a motivated, creative and experienced VFX and world builder to join our team.
As an experienced world builder, you will leverage your several years' worth of Unity VFX and world building experience to craft visually impactful but highly optimized VFX and Environments for an exceptional Augmented Reality gaming experience.

You will work closely with our Technical Lead to ensure both the quality and
the timeliness of your deliverables, and will need to pro-actively ensure each VFX and environment is highly optimized for the mobile platforms we launch on (currently iOS and Android)

You'll work with our 3d artists and programmers to enhance the visual aspects of the game and ensure a truly world-class look for the game.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement in Unity various environments based on the direction from the Tech Lead and Creative Lead.
Designing UI effects;
Create ability (spell) VFX for the creatures in the game and work with the developers to implement them.
Create creature FX that enhance the look of the creatures.
Assist in enhancing key events through suggesting areas where VFX can be used to create a better look or better feedback to the user.
Work with Unity's animation system to help configure the creature abilities
Basic work in pre-done scripts to configure abilities.
Experience or willingness to learn Unity's timeline and director systems for entry and exit cutscenes.
Experience with Audiosources to implement the ability and environment audio (not create)
Essential Requirements:

Multiple years experience using Unity 3D
Demonstrable abilities in Unity's Shuriken system for VFX construction
Demonstrable environment building skills - including the creation of hybrid 2d-3d worlds (3d world with use of billboarding for efficiency)
Experience using Unity Post-Processing effects stack
Experience using Unity Animation system including Controllers
Experience with Unity Timeline and Director advantageious
Experience launching titles on Android & iPhone advantageous.
Collaborative skills including version control task/issue tracking and the use of systems like Jira.
Demonstrable skills in UI Effect building advantageous.
Software Experience:
Unity 5+ years
Adobe Photoshop 5+ years
Adobe Audition advantageous
Adobe After Effects advantageous

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

Solid environment and vfx experience (5 years or more)
Prior experience with game development
Examples of completed projects in Google Play or Apple App stores
Essential Personality Traits:

Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and stay abreast of Unity developments/standards.
Clear communication and presentation skills
Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines
Quick to pick up new tools and systems.
