Job Summary Statement
Aveng Manufacturing Dynamic Fluid Control a Manufacturer of various types of valves and is a major supplier to both the South African and international markets. Aveng Manufacturing Dynamic Fluid Control is a business unit of the Aveng Group which actively pursues extensive global interests encompassing the building, construction, engineering, mining, manufacturing and steel processing industries.
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall performance of Aveng DFC operations. Key outputs include overall factory performance and the production of product offerings within specification, time and budget requirements. As a member of the Aveng DFC Exco team, this position contributes to the overall performance of Aveng DFC.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ Relevant technical qualification in either Engineering or Production Management
β’ Management development programme an added advantage
EXPERIENCE:
β’ At least 10 years experience in a production / plant environment
β’ Continuous improvement experience (i.e Lean Manufacturing)
β’ Experience in managing multi functional teams
β’ Experience in managing union and shop floor relations
β’ Experience within the valve or related industries
Duties & Responsibilities
β’ Direct factory teams in the manufacturing of product to meet customer quality and on-time delivery
β’ Operational excellence β production systems implementation (i.e Lean Manufacturing principles)
β’ Set up plans to achieve productivity and quality targets for product offerings
β’ Coach teams in their continuous improvement efforts
β’ Establish procedures to ensure teams/ operations perform preventative maintenance activities. Implement mitigation actions where required
β’ Implement procedures to ensure effective housekeeping standards are maintained
β’ Prepare daily/monthly production plans and report progress against plan
β’ Ensure daily production review meetings are held and implement mitigation actions where deviation against targets are realised
β’ Take accountability for safety standards and targets
β’ Prepare annual budgets. Review performance against budgets monthly. Assure compliance with budgets
β’ Approve expenditure and ensure spend is within agreed limits of authority
β’ Prepare input into capital budgets. Monitor project performance and expenditures
β’ Perform other tasks as needed in support of production teams
β’ In conjunction with the Sales team focus on continuous improvement interventions
β’ In conjunction with the Sales team contribute towards product innovation
β’ Take accountability for overall production performance against monthly plans and targets
β’ Ensure metrics are in place to manage overall production performance
β’ As a member of the Aveng DFC Exco team contribute towards the overall performance of the business
