CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

High school diploma
Min 2 years’ experience in a Golf Sales OR Hospitality environment
Must be an active golfer and have a golf handicap.

Recognize opportunities to up-sell the customer and sell enhancements to create a better Marriott experience or event.

Enter, retrieve, reconcile, and verify information (e.g., commissions, leads, third parties) in software involved in the sales process.
Perform general office duties to support Sales & Marketing
Check availability of accommodations and dates, including finding alternative dates or options if first choice is not available.
Compile, co–ordinate and implement the Golf Sales and Marketing Plan for all relevant market segments in conjunction with the Director of Golf.
To create brand awareness with on-going advertising, publicity and promotion campaigns as required.
Client management through both sales and marketing strategies.
Experience in event management from concept to delivery would be beneficial
To submit monthly measurability statistics for all golf advertising and promotions done. (Statistics to be compiled at hotel level).
Compilation, co – ordination and implementation of adhoc marketing strategies over and above the Marketing Plan when required.
Ensure that all actions included in the Marketing Plan are actioned and implemented timeously.
Attend Monthly Golf Marketing Meetings with Area Director of Sales &Marketing;for Marriott SA
Generate revenue for the golf course, together with selling the hotels accommodation and banqueting facilities
Maintain 40 maintenance sales calls and 20 acquisition calls on a monthly basis
Achieve the sales targets as set out by the SM and GM.
Together with the Sales Manager and Director of Golf develop a working sales plan.
Represent Arabella Hotel and Spa at Tradeshows / Workshops and industry events
Attend all sales meetings, and any other meetings which will provide input as requested by the SM.
Host corporate and Leisure educational and conduct site inspections of the hotel and the golf course accordingly
Develop sustainable long-term working relationships within the golfing industry
Work collectively with the Golf department reservations and the hotels reservations department to convert all leads
Maintain a working database of the clients consisting of corporates / golf specialist tour operators / DMC’s / PCO’s / international tour operators
Sourcing and securing new business for Arabella Golf course and Arabella Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection.
Work with the Director of Golf in maximizing golf rounds and revenue.
Analysis and review of monthly golf stats with Director of Golf to strategize promotional & marketing opportunities, and monitor trend analysis.
Build key relationships with reciprocal clubs, locally and internationally
Promote the corporate and Social memberships to potential corporate clients
Assist in providing input in creating compelling golf packages for the local market.
Sourcing and securing corporate annual getaways and incentive trips.
Monitoring competitor golf clubs for potential Corporate Golf days
Work closely with the local golf societies
Maintain relationships to secure regular annual series events
Conduct competitor site inspections and market analysis on a quarterly basis
