An exciting opportunity has arisen in the clearance department, reporting directly to the clearance manager. The objective of the role is to register and clear all non-document parcels through customs on behalf of the company's customers and to supervise other export clerks from guidance perspective.
Main responsibilities:
Clearance
To ensure that the correct clearance information is used so that the export clearance is done correctly.
To ensure that the correct exporters code and and VAT number is used in accordance with the receivers address.
To ensure that the correct tarriff heading is used with regards to the description on the suppliers invoice.
To ensure hat correct purpose code is used when framing a bill of entry.
Esnsure MAWB are submitted to gateway on time request when requested and completed correctly for country/ cargo specific requirements.
To ensure that the correct flight number and dates are used.
To ensure that the daily log shteet submission to linehual and ops team.
To ensure that all exports stops are finalised within 7 days.
To ensure that export clerks clear the low value bulk manifest are cleared within 2 days.
Esnure that proper filing of export documents (including DA65, EUR1 and DA73 is done on the system as well as in the box file (pending microfile authorisation).
To oversee all export and RIB clearance is done on time.
To ensure that H/V export shipments are cleared by export clerks within two days.
To ensure that all road manifest are completed on time to avoid delays at the border.
Communication of information
To advise the query clerks about what information is required to enable the bill entry to be processed correctly.
To ensure that all information required is marked on query form.
To make sure that all export clerks complete specific requirements by clients.
To ensure the SPS is informed of flight information on Special Services Clearances.
To ensure that all pre- alerts, both road and air, are sent to the correct role players within the specific time frames.
Customs Formalities:
To abide by customs regulations and requirements regarding the following:
Consignments stopped by customs
Audit queries
Statistical queries
Provisional payments
Voucher of corrections
adjustment of queries
Stop note requirement
Identifiable literature requested by customs
Airports Facility Requirements
To follow up on the key tasks to enable the airport facility to complete their daily functions.
The completion of store checks to verify that parcels on the store check should be at the facility.
To ensure that all outer lying are shipments are exported from the gateway for airfreight and road freight shipments.
Company policies and procedures
To convey a professional image at all times, which is responsive to customer's needs and complies with the group standards.
To maintain all TNT equipment in good working order.

Customer satisfaction and Retention
Contribute to customer satisfaction, both internally and externally, by participating in the implementation of initiatives that aim to achieve customer satisfaction, loyalty retention.
Identify ongoing service issues and recommend solutions to the SARN Clearance Manager.
At anytime and anywhere, perform the activities and display the behaviors that are designed to deliver a distinctive customer experience.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Education:
Matric (grade 12) minimum
SDS part 1 and part 2
Other customs clearance certificates/ courses
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
At least 5 years experience in the industry
At least 5 years experience in export clearance and entry framing
High level communication skills to enable cross cultural and international effective communications
