Visual, Lighting and Audio Technician

My client in the Event Management industry is seeking a technician to join their team

Duties Include:

· Quoting on hire of equipment and for functions when required

· Planning of confirmed functions

· Set up, strike and operation of events

· Maintain equipment to company and OHSA standards

· Supervise junior staff in operating large systems/ events

· Keep abreast of advances in the fields the employer covers

· Assist with training where required

· Maintaining or assisting with the maintenance of Company Health and Safety Standards on job sites

· Any other tasks, both of a technical and administrative nature necessary for the conduct of the employer’s business









Candidate Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

· Ability to work under pressure

· Quick learner

· Able to adapt to changing situations and willing to work unsocial hours

· Ability to use own initiative

· Show leadership qualities

· Must be reasonably fit and able and willing to lift heavy equipment

· Should have a keen interest in the entertainment industry

· Have a good understanding of signal flow and all technical equipment

· Able to operate sound, lighting and AV, with at least one main discipline/speciality

· Good communication skills both written and oral (English)

· Ability to work in Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

· Willingness and ability to assist with quotes

· Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions quickly and to act on these promptly

· Must have at least a code 8 drivers’ license, a code 10 license would be advantageous
