Videographer

Job description
New Media’s Food Division is looking for a talented videographer and editor to work on one of its flagship brands. This full-time six-month contract position (with the option of extension) is based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work with an award-winning team and will need to display a passion and talent for translating food into film.

Key responsibilities:
Creating editorial and commercial videos.
Turning a brief into compelling visual content.
Creating original concepts and storyboards, and pitching them to brand teams and clients.
Managing the full production process, from shooting, lighting and audio recording, to editing, colour and sound grading, exporting and archiving.
Staying up to date with new creative and technical advances.
Requirements:
A degree or diploma in video and multimedia production, with at least three years’ experience as a video content producer.
Excellent proficiency in editing, using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or similar.
Directorial flair backed by solid camera, lighting, audio and production skills.
The organisational skills to plan and book shoots.

Creativity and ability to work with a team to explore briefs and generate ideas.
A good understanding of typography and layout.

Bonus skills advantageous:
Technical knowledge and proficiency in design software (such as Adobe CC – After Effects, PhotoShop, Illustrator).
Skills in motion graphics and animation.
