The ability to research in-depth, near perfect opinion writing and excellent communication skills will be the attributes of the ideal candidate. A proven technical ability is all-important.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Attending to client specific matters which include, but are not limited to the following:

Drafting legal opinions.
Representing client in SARS dispute resolution – objections, appeals etc.
Applying for Rulings.
Corresponding with SARS on a regular basis.

Preparing and submitting Voluntary Disclosure Applications.
Research on various aspects of tax law.
Proposing tax efficient corporate structures.
Trust tax advisory.
Expatriate tax advisory.
Drafting contracts with tax principles in mind.
General tax advice.
Assisting group employees with legal/tax law research.
Reviewing opinions and articles drafted by internal staff/attorneys.
Requirements:

Admitted attorney

3 to 5 years PQE (Post Qualification Experience)

Postgraduate tax qualification advantageous
