Job Description:

A secure payment and transaction platform operator seeks a sales and marketing consultant. The company’s core business is the handling of payment transactions at retailers and other payment networks like banks' electronic channels, wallets and informal vendors – providing a convenient transaction channel for both banked and unbanked customers.

This is a sales, customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing role – your focus will be on selling, managing and servicing the company’s services in the public sector. Additionally, a selection of commercial / private sector billers will also be under management. You will drive payment transaction volumes in the public sector (as well as commercial sector billers under management)

Responsibilities:

Prospecting – Research, leads origination, respond to queries, send marketing material/BRS/Specs/etc
Public sector tender management – sourcing, compiling, submitting and overseeing the tender management process
Distribution and processing of onboarding documents (Contracts etc)
Oversee the sign up and integration of new billers to the company system
Train billers
Drive billers to scale volumes by promoting various payment networks and by using appropriate marketing strategies

Continually look for ways to enhance the efficacy of solutions and sales and servicing processes
Support activated billers in terms of queries and technical requirements
Monthly reporting & other communication to all billers under management
Assist with the collection of payments where billers do not settle on time
Work with the other internal functional areas to execute on the above tasks
Build an optimal management framework for public sector billers
Maintain / keep updated the CRM system tools for billers under management (including updating contact details, keeping up to date the bill issuer prospecting and existing biller action reports, etc)
Maintain relevant documentation (eg agreements, specs, BRS, etc) for all billers under management
Log work requests for system enhancements (as and when these arise)
Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activity
Report on monthly performance, task tracking, etc to management


Ideal requirements:

3 years’ experience in the payments industry
Experience in selling financial services to and servicing public sector clients {municipalities, metros and parastatals})
Good understanding of the workings of the public sector tender management processes
Good understanding of the financial management environment in the public sector
3 years sales and client relationship management experience
Experience in marketing strategies, planning and execution will be beneficial
Excellent network in the public sector specifically but the same in the private sector will also be an advantage
The candidate must have the ability to travel regularly, either locally (often using their own car) or elsewhere in the country.
