Implement and manage plant SHE system, policies and procedures

Support, communicate and ensure compliance to SHE legislation, standards, policies and procedures

Monitor and evaluate compliance to SHE legislation, standards, policies and procedures

Incident reporting and investigations – internal, external
Plant Inspections - general plant conditions, laydown areas, workshop, offices, ablutions
Compile and interpret SHE Reports – monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual
Assist and monitor security – checking up daily; action items; follow up
Attend SHE meetings and follow up on issues
Conduct General induction - contractors, employees, visitors
Monitor and update Contractor SHE files – create files, inventory
Monitor all contractors - SHE issues, obtain schedule of daily meetings, SHE meetings,

Update Notice boards, Compile SHE focus topics
Monitor Tool box in departments
Follow up on PTO
PPE monitoring on site - behaviour
Monitor and report Waste licence conditions
Monitor and report Water licence conditions
Monitor and report Air Emission Licence conditions
Waste areas and activities - bins, litter, dumping
Monitor and enlist General housekeeping and standards

Grade 12

Degree OR National Diploma in Environmental Health/ Safety Management/ Environmental Science

3 years’ experience as a SHE Officer

Computer Literacy(Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, Internet)

Good communication skills – verbal, written

Must be able to pay attention to detail, manage time effectively

Knowledge of mining legislation applicable to the work environment with regards to Safety, Health, Hygiene and Environmental requirements, MHSA

SHE management systems knowledge
