Murray & Roberts Power and Energy invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Rigger Assistant for Kusile Site reporting to the Rigging Forman. The position is on a short term project.

EXPERIENCE:

At least 3 years experience as a Rigger Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Rigging Certificates will be an advantage

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To assist the rigger in slinging and rigging loads / equipment.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep all rigging and lifting equipment clean
Report any faulty equipment to the rigger immediately
Keep rigging stores clean and tidy
Assist the Forman / rigger to do the monthly color coding
Assist the rigger with day to day rigging and slinging duties
Selection of correct rigging equipment
Working at heights and in MEWP’s
Moving of rigging equipment to the work site and return to store at end of shift
Assist in housekeeping on site and in the rigging stores
Slinging of loads, with shackles, clamps, eyebolts, wire rope, nylon, webbing and chain slings
Setting up lifting equipment, such as Chain Blocks, Tirfors, Winches etc
Working with Fork Lift Trucks and Telehandlers to load and offload trailers
Position and stack dunnage under loads and storage on site
Comply with any other reasonable instruction given by management.
