Coverage care is a not for profit organisation with 14 care homes in Shropshire providing EMI, Nursing and Residential facilities. Chillcott Gardens is located in Telford supporting individuals over the age of 55 with a housing need. The building has 62 flats and Coverage Care works in partnership with Anchor and Telford & Wrekin Council to provide care packages.

Relief Laundry Assistant

Post Objective: Maintaining the laundry facilities and ensuring service users clothing is maintained the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with Coverage Care’s Code of Practice and all current relevant legislation.

Job Description - Summary of Principal Responsibilities:

To maintain service users clothing, sorting the items, washing and ironing.
To return clothing to service users rooms.
To maintain the laundry room to an acceptable standard, including keeping all machines free from dust. To clean the room at the end of each shift and leave it tidy.
To ensure that service user confidentiality & dignity is maintained at all times.
Participate in appropriate training, and attend staff meetings as requested by the Manager.
Be aware of emergency procedures, report hazards to the Manager and respond to emergencies as appropriate.
