An opportunity has become available for a Recoveries Legal Consultant at our Durban offices. The role centers around meeting with defaulting clients and making suitable commercial arrangements considering the financial position of the client and bank's security. The individual needs good personal communication skills which builds credibility and confidence with clients and internal stakeholders.
Description Of Your Skill and Experience
LLB or Bcom Law degree
Preferably an Admitted Attorney with 2 to 3 years post articles experience
Previous Litigation experience
Excel experience
Team player, good interpersonal skills and networking ability
Be able to work well under pressure
Someone with passion, energy and resilience.
Self-motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial flair as well as being innovative.
The Result
Recovering of arrears on the lending and PBA card book.
Reviewing and implementing payment arrangements with clients.
Taking payment arrangements through the Credit process and arranging Restructure document where applicable.
Checking security, insurance, Valuations etc on deals in arrears and arranging for additional cover where necessary.
Loading of arrear classifications and security values on systems where necessary.
Correspondence, administration; compile emails, letters to clients and/or attorneys, drafting of letters of demand and/or agreements.
Reporting on portfolio on a monthly basis.
Maintaining a holistic risk assessment mindset in respect of clients in arrears.
Approve transfers for legal actions, excepting shortfalls and raise provision and do write-offs.
Managing overall quality of the ADR book.
Adhere to Credit policies, Service Level Agreements, Recovery workflows and ADR policies.
Report process and procedure inefficiencies to the business and Leadership.
Ensuring quality risk management.
Liaising with legal practitioners on a continuous basis when handing matters over to legal, setting directions and making sound risk decisions in managing and maintaining all legal matters.
Participating in strategic decisions and implementation thereof.
Admin work, including creating legal folders, drafting settlement quotes, letters/faxes, and running weekly excel reports for the team.
Reporting to the wider business on treads and figures
Daily updating of internal systems in respect of matters being dealt with and other team reporting and capturing tasks
