Duties & Responsibilities
Bulk Quality Audits to ensure that satisfactory quality levels were maintained throughout the production process and exception reporting to Merchandise.
Measurement and assessment of the fit and quality.
Assessment of material, trims, be able to identify faults on fabrics
Communication to Merchandise team to ensure that suppliers are complying with both the technical and aesthetic requirements of the relevant styles.
Assessment and fault reporting on all customer returns.
Responsible for execution of customer return policies working with Merchandise
Solving customer related quality problems and queries working with Merchandise
Store visits – reporting on quality issues on bulk & customer returns.
To implement current industry Quality Control processes
To establish and document the required quality standards for all products based on input from the manufacturer, the merchandise division and the executive team. - We set standards for the supplier / manufacturer to follow, not in consultation with them

To test post production samples once they are received in South Africa against the appropriate criteria; Inspect finished goods to ensure that minimum required quality standards are met
To review business statistics
To document any areas that may need improvement
To continually review the current policies, procedures and benchmarking against international standards to ensure we as a company are always up to date with international standards
To educate the business on quality, quality standards and how to manage deviations.
Work closely with buyers, QA and Merchandise Executive throughout the season to identify and find a solution to problematic categories and suppliers

Experience Required
2 year working experience in the textile QC industry

Minimum Qualifications Required
Grade 12 (Matric)

Knowledge Required
Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Power point etc.
SAP – knowledge of SAP for specific role.
Good understanding of retail environment
Garment manufacturing processes and lead times
Sound knowledge of garment quality assurance
Very good understanding of the Kurt Geiger customer profile
Technical application surrounding different garment specs
A good understanding of various fabric qualities
Quality control processes and procedures
Quality standards
Sample testing criteria
