Educational and working background:
 Grade 12 or relevant NQF4 equivalent plus relevant tertiary qualification
in Quality Assurance / Civil Engineering; and
 ± 3 years quality control (inspection and testing) experience in same or
similar industry (concrete manufacturing);
 Must have ISO compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the execution of quality control within the product manufacturing
process, which include but is not limited to testing, inspections and
internal audits.
2. Interact with production and quality assistants to ensure all related
quality checks are done on the production floor.
3. Supervise and co ordinate activities of personnel engaged in performing
all inspections and tests required for quality assurance and control of
products.
4. Provides support to the production department in troubleshooting
product quality deficiencies, and work with technical resources and plant
management resources to identify the root cause and eliminate recurring
quality problems.
5. Ensure laboratory instrumentation calibration and checks are planned
and executed according to set requirements. Troubleshoot laboratory
instrumentation as necessary.
6. Educate plant personnel on the product quality requirements, including
record keeping, laboratory execution work and product grading.
7. Provide annual quality compliance training and quality assistant training.
8. Provide expertise and leadership in the maintenance of Quality
Management Systems.
9. Ensure adherence to ISO9001: 2008 requirements.
10. Review quality and procedure documents, and report the need for
changes.
11. Plan and perform process and procedural audits.
12. Monitor and review performance of Quality Department objectives during
quality INVOCOM meetings.
13. Present quality results in Production INVOCOM Meetings.
14. Partner with the Business Manager to assure that proper follow ups sre
done on all customer and regulatory issues, and that the plant is
prepared for customer and regulatory inspections and product recalls.
15. Maintain accurate and precise records (includes inspection & test
records, computer files, graphs and control programs).
16. Work in safe manner and be aware of potential safety hazards in the
laboratory and workplace.
