A well-known pharmaceutical organization is urgently seeking a Medical Pharma Sales Consultant who will be responsible for achieving 100% of set monthly, quarterly and annual sales, through effective Detailing/Direct Selling at Independent/Corporate Pharmacies and Scripting /Dispensing Doctors, within the geographic area designated by the company

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Job Outputs:


Ensure achievement of quantitate criteria
Sales Budget/Business Unit Brands (Budget vs Actual)
Annual and monthly sales performance within product baskets
Monitoring of own hand sales tracking and performance per territory as per target audience or key accounts customers
Management of products and market share

Customer Services

All queries are followed up and resolved in the shortest possible timeframe within policy framework
A professional attitude is displayed when responding to a customer’s needs
Methods for improving customer’s services are proposed, developed and continuously updated
Internal and external customers are constantly updated as to the progress of their queries
Identifying the issues that affect the growth and success of company via customer feedback
Empowerment and participation of employees at all levels to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality
Demonstrating an understanding of the link between self-knowledge and effective communication
Identifying individual and team informal roles and competencies to drive individual or team effectiveness

Continuous Improvement Process Filed Tasks

Mediate, summarise, gain, consensus, stimulate creative debate and focus to initiate customer service action
Integrate customer process to optimize interdependences between and within division and functions
Ensure total participation and create synergy between diverse customer views and intentions

Provide context, information and structure for customers

Territory Management

Daily Reports
Weekly Reports
Monthly Reports
Ensure optimum “call rate” is achieved (set by Regional Sales Manager)
Infield Reports
Data management
Analysis of data with action plans
CPD implementation
Qualitative measures
Territory planning and re-alignment
Strategies for evaluating and improving performance are formulated and implemented
Strategies for providing regular feedback to individuals and teams are designed and implemented

Face to Face

Develop selling skills to maximize sales opportunities and achieve goals
Create selling opportunities
Closing the sale

Other Requirements

Cycle Meetings/ Conferences/ general meetings are to be attended punctually and fully prepared
Living team values and norms
Ensure communication of essential company information is acted on

Product Portfolio

Scheduled pharmaceutical product experience is essential (preferably not OTC experience)
Anti-infective, CNS, CVS, Respiratory, Anti-Diabetic, Anti-inflammatory

Core Competencies

Sales strategy within Independent/Corporate pharmacy and Dispensing Doctor environment
Microsoft office suite
Adobe Viewer
Desired Experience & Qualification

2-3 years sales experience in the medical or pharmaceutical field with good track record
Previous Detailing/Direct selling experience at Independent and or corporate pharmacy level
Previous Detailing/Direct selling experience at Script and or Dispensing Doctor level
Relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage or relevant Sales/Marketing qualification.
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle


4-6 years’ experience
Previous Detailing/Direct Selling experience at Independent and or Corporate Pharmacy level
Previous detailing/Direct selling experience at Script and or Dispensing Doctor level
Sales Awards received for Top Sales Achievement
Previous experience in the Generic market
