Requirements
A MBChB qualification and registration with the HPCSA as an independent medical practitioner is a minimum requirement .
A Diploma in Primary Emergency Care (DipPEC) from the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa would be required. It is essential to have current certification in ACLS, APLS and ATLS.
A FCEM (SA) or MMed EM qualification and registration with the Health Professions Council as an independent emergency medicine specialist would be advantageous.

At least 3 years’ experience in Emergency Medicine.
Previous experience in a private emergency centre is recommended.
Experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
Good communication and interpersonal skills required.


Key Outputs
Strategic planning and execution for the unit.
General unit administration.
Management of all medical, surgical and paediatric emergencies.
Continuing medical education.
Night and weekend duties will be required from time to time.
Participation in an active quality improvement programme.
Participation in all unit activities including Community events.
Staff management which includes performance assessment and development
