Group Manager: Development-Sun International Management Limited
Job Purpose
The Group Manager: Development will have total responsibility and accountability for the leadership of the development team and governance of the development strategy, framework and practices across the Group in a manner that the buildings; facilities; equipment and infrastructure at Sun International€™s multiple properties are proactively maintained and operated according to company and policy standards and leading industry practice. The role is also responsible to identify, implement, manage and review cost leadership opportunities and oversee the planning and project management of all capital projects for upgrades and modifications.
Education
4 €“ Year Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
GCC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Additional Business Degree is an advantage
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years€™ experience including 5 years€™ experience in a management position within a maintenance environment
Project Management experience
Experience in managing contractors / suppliers

Building industry, Hospitality and corporate knowledge
Electrical engineering high and medium voltage distribution systems
Mechanical pumps; HVAC, compressed dry air systems, chilled water systems and gas systems

Key Performance Areas:
Developed and delivered Engineering Strategy
Developing and keeping an updated 12 €“ 60 month roadmap of strategic engineering objectives for the Group€™s properties
Directing and overseeing the project management and achievement of milestones of the function deliverables to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery; as well as anticipate new development project requirements that will be needed in the future.
Engineering Governance and Compliance Management:
Overseeing that Group maintenance and engineering standards and processes are developed, communicated and audited on a regular basis
Conducting regular walkabouts of the business unit buildings and grounds, to assess quality standards and compliance
Aligning practices with new legislative compliance around health, hygiene, safety and the environment
Implementing sufficient control measures (including systems and processes) & checks to mitigate any risk to the business.
Development and Project Planning & Management:
Consulting or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications
Preparing and submitting for in?principle approval the initial (conceptual) programme business case, providing essential decision?making information regarding purpose, contribution to business objectives, expected value created, time frames, etc.
Determining the resources required to complete various projects
Budget & Forecast Management:
Financial Management for the Group Maintenance function and projects including:
Budgeting
Cost management
Capex requirements for future major infrastructure requirements across the Group
People Leadership
Vendor Relationship Management
Equity:
