Caxton Magazine’s is looking for a dynamic, digital savvy and self- driven individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join their premiere team on the w&h brand. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a leading brand. The position requires an individual who will demonstrate drive and willingness to ‘live the brand’ within a digital environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:-

Digital Strategy

Develop and execute an insights-based digital editorial strategy and editorial calendar in consultation with the Brand Editor and Digital Media Strategist.
Manage the digital marketing eco-system.
Leverage data and insights to influence brand strategy and make tactical recommendations in consultation with the Digital Media Strategist to drive audience and engagement growth across digital platforms.
Content Management

Create and implement a digital content marketing strategy in consultation with Brand Editor.
Produce and optimise compelling content that garners a high volume of visits, is on-purpose, strategic and consistently accelerates engagement and revenue across digital platforms.
Responsible for ensuring that all published content meets/exceeds prescribed quality standards, is aligned to brand identity and target market and is relevant.
Responsible for uploading content and ensuring uploading process is managed when executed by team.

 

 
Manage online contributors ie. Photographers in consultation with Brand Editors
Liaise with editorial team to leverage print content for online.
Develop in-depth knowledge of Caxton’s brands, markets, competition, and audiences to create relevant content.
Collaborate with videographer to conceptualise, create and execute video contents.
Conceptualise and execute innovative and engaging brand-appropriate social campaigns to develop brand awareness and monetisation opportunities where appropriate.
Responsible for understanding brand and competitor content performance to provide recommendations, identify topical insights & trends and mapping out of audience segmentations.
Represent the brand at events and launches with a focus on providing social media content, from these events and launches.
Social Media

Develop and implement a social media strategy in collaboration with Digital Media Strategist and Brand Editor.
Responsible for boosting Facebook posts whilst adhering to prescribed digital budgets and guidelines set by management.
Plan, maintain and update the social media calendar.
Ensure social media channels are consistently populated with fun, relevant and compelling content.
Create, schedule, and analyse all social media updates.
Identify appropriate influencers and blogger partners and develop outreach strategies.
Proactively innovate to identify new ways to grow social audiences and revenue opportunities where appropriate.
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely and courteous manner as well as monitor customer review.
Email Marketing

Create and implement an email marketing strategy in consultation with Brand Editor.
Create and execute email campaigns and measure success and failures.
Develop actions plans to improve and address areas of weakness.
SEO

Develop and execute brand SEO strategy.
Optimise brands search engine presence through on-site and off-site activities.
Develop target key word list.
Execute link building campaigns.
Optimise copy for SEOs.
Implement keyword strategies in content.
Run adwords campaigns.
Reporting – Analytics

Compile and analyse digital data reports relating to digital activities, with a focus on monitoring audience growth, traffic, engagement across key social channels, websites and content performance with key actions to be taken.
Create and implement actionable initiatives to optimize content quality and performance in support of the brands digital strategies.
Provide digital feedback report to the Brand Editor on the overall health of content and performance across all channels.
Perform cross-platform competitive reviews (top performing posts, benchmark audience and engagement metrics, key shifts in content trends, etc.)
Review and analyse IO technology data report and where appropriate develop action plans to remedy underperformance?
Commercial Value

Partner with internal stakeholders ie. Sales, Creative Studio to identify new commercial growth opportunities – supporting internal stakeholders in developing innovative and valuable social programs and digital campaigns for advertisers.
Implement digital elements of advertiser campaigns.
Miscellaneous

Monitor the functionality performance of the website.
Propose and initiate website changes and updates in consultation with the Digital Media Strategist to improve user engagement and user experience.
Maintain user database profiles.
Support social media activities at events either in-person or remotely.
Keep abreast of new developments within the digital sphere, social media, on existing platforms and new areas.
Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications and make recommendations where appropriate.
Maintain a strict vigil on website and social media security – escalate concerns to the Digital Media Strategist.
Responsible for managing the brands online reputation and engaging in crisis management in mitigating risks to the brand.
Essential Requirements

Degree in Journalism/media/communications/English and Digital Marketing.
4-8 years’ experience in Digital Marketing within a publishing or magazine environment.
2-3 years’ experience in creative writing and copyediting.
Experience growing a digital audience across multiple platforms.
Strong editorial judgment about content, accuracy, tone and organization.
A firm grasp of both social and wider digital metrics ie. website metrics, analytics, SEO, CMS, video platforms, and all digital tools.

Skills & Attributes

Excellent writing and editing skills.
Expertise in content management systems.
Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is also encouraged.
Intuitive, and analytical, understanding how audiences use social media.
An understanding of the commercial landscape of social media.
